Equal parts auto-biography and corporate manifesto “Let My People Go Surfing” retells the founding story of Patagonia, or the worlds hippest company with an ecological conscience (or a really good self-marketing) as well as the life story of its founder Yvon Chouinard. And it certainly does so in a diverting way, spilling a bit of corporate bon mots and climbers wisdom left and right. It somehow fails however on the bold promise its title makes, because below the sparkling waves of a vision of a people gone surfing lurk the rocky grounds of an ambitious and demanding business and its founder.
